Profile

Jesse trained at Royal Central on the BA (Hons) Acting for Collaborative and Devised Theatre course, graduating in 2012. He is an actor, director and co-founder of devising company Engineer Theatre Collective. Acting credits include Foyle’s War and Midsomer Murders (ITV), Doctors (BBC), Hard Feelings (Finborough Theatre) Missing (New Diorama) and Afterglow (Southwark Playhouse). He was also part of Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s online company in 2020, and will next appear in a supporting role for the 2021 indie feature The Last Time You Saw Me (Entity Film).

In 2018 his solo show This Restless State (produced by Fuel) ran for 2 weeks at Ovalhouse before touring nationally. For his work at the New Diorama Theatre with Engineer – Run, The Gap in the Light and most recently Keep Watching – he has twice received Offie nominations for ‘Best Director’ and the company two further nominations for ‘Best Ensemble’. Run was also featured in The New Yorker. Other work includes collaborations with Complicite Creative Learning and Southwark Playhouse, as an associate director and movement director respectively.

He now returns regularly to Central in the capacity of visiting lecturer and director.
