Darkest Hour: Kristin Scott Thomas and Gary Oldman

Productions starring a number of Central alumni have received BAFTA Film award nominations in 2018.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a world-leading independent arts charity, and its Film awards reward the best work of any nationality seen on British cinema screens during the preceding year.

Central alumni involved in award-nominated films include Kristin Scott Thomas (B.Ed (Hons) Speech and Drama 1980), who was also nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress, Jason Isaacs (Stage 1988), as well as recent graduates Naomi Ackie (BA (Hons) Acting CDT 2012), Michael Fox (BA (Hons) Acting CDT 2013), and Emilio Iannucci (BA (Hons) Acting CDT 2015). Webber Douglas alumnus Hugh Bonneville was also involved in an award-nominated film. Find the full list of Central alumni nominees below!

This year’s film awards ceremony is presented by actress Joanna Lumley and will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 18 February 2018.
