Congratulations to Andreas Skourtis, Central Lecturer in Scenography for BA (Hons) Theatre Practice and MA/ MFA Advanced Theatre Practice, for his design of the new Aristocracy London flagship store which has been awarded Gold in the Interior Design – Flagship Store category at the 2023 London Design Awards!

Congratulations, as well, to Serafima Denisova, a Central Design for Performance graduate from the Class of 2023, who worked with Andreas on the award-winning design project as the 3d renderings designer.

The design for the flagship Aristocracy store, housed in a Grade II listed building at 15 Cromwell Road (across from London’s Natural History Museum), was inspired by the exhibition displays in the nearby Victoria and Albert Museum. The ground floor of the space has been transformed into a contemporary showroom with references to high quality relaxed spaces of a member’s club; art-deco patterns co-exist harmoniously with the original Victoria features and the blue-gold colour theme is inspired by the brand’s visual identity. Unlike traditional retail environments, the showroom evokes a sense of ‘home’ and the space’s individuality highlights the close relationship between fashion, art and design.

The London Design Awards recognise designs that are truly exceptional in the visualisation of creative influence. You can find out more about the London Design Awards by visiting their website
