The Central School of Speech & Drama is a unique institution and we are proud of all that we have achieved. Founded in 1906, Central has nurtured and enriched the talents of extraordinary actors, practitioners and researchers for over one hundred years. Our alumni include established award winners such as Dame Judi Dench and Vanessa Redgrave CBE, to rising stars such Andrew Garfield.

However, Central is not just an acting school. Based on a professional theatre making model, we offer an entire theatre making ecology with specialist training including lighting, sound, scenography, prop making, puppetry, voice, costume construction and movement.
