Saturday Youth Theatre - Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions Overview

Important information for all Youth Theatre students

Saturday Youth Theatre is an excellent introduction to the wonderful world of theatre and actor training.

For ages 6 - 17, classes are grouped by age and are open access. There is no audition to join us and we do not expect any previous experience. All we ask for is enthusiasm, commitment and respect for everyone in your class.

Before booking your place, please read carefully all of the useful information below.

Terms and Conditions

  • How to Apply

From June 2019, all Saturday Youth Theatre places must be booked online. Please follow the ‘Book Now’ link on the course page

Places are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are only confirmed once full payment is made. Please take note of the application deadline. This is usually the Thursday before the term is due to begin.

  • Concessionary Fees and Sibling Discount

    Concessionary rates

You are entitled to the concessionary rate if you meet the following criteria:

    • You are a disabled student
    • You, as the parent/carer of the student, are claiming UK benefits for either unemployment or disability

If this applies to you, please email short.courses@cssd.ac.uk with formal evidence of this before booking and we will send you a 25% discount code to input as part of the booking process.

    Sibling discount

If you have more than one child attending the Saturday Youth Theatre, you are entitled to a 10% discount for each child.

Please email short.courses@cssd.ac.uk to ask for your discount code before booking and we will send you a 10% discount code to input as part of the booking process.

  • Deferrals & Transfers

We are no longer able to defer places on the Saturday Youth Theatre.

Once the course has started you cannot defer your place to another term. Please therefore ensure that the student is able to complete the course before booking their place.

  • Cancellations

    Right to Cancel

    1. You have the right to cancel your payment/contract within 14 days of booking without giving any reason.
    2. The cancellation period will expire after 14 calendar days from the day of the conclusion of the contract (which will be the date upon which full payment is made).
    3. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us via email (short.courses@cssd.ac.uk) of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. an email)
    4. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

    Effects of Cancellation

    1. If you cancel your contract within the 14 day cancellation period, we will reimburse all payments received from you.
    2. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which you inform us of your decision to cancel your contract.
    3. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment used for the initial transaction. You will not be charged any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
    4. If you requested to begin the performance of services during the cancellation period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been performed until you have communicated to us your cancellation from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.

Central reserves the right to amend, withdraw or cancel any of the courses described either online or in publications. In the event of us withdrawing or cancelling a course, full fees will be refunded.

  • Refunds

We can offer you a full refund if you decide to withdraw from a course up to 7 days before it starts.

To request a refund, please email short.courses@cssd.ac.uk stating which course and date you have booked on to. Your refund will be processed within 10 working days.

Once a course has started we are unable to offer any refunds and the fees become fully non-refundable. This covers all possible reasons that you may seek a refund including due to ill health of yourself or a family member, issues with technology (for online courses), transport disruption etc. Central recommends that all students insure themselves to cover the loss of fees in the event of needing to seek a refund after the refund policy expires.

  • Minimum Numbers

Courses will only commence if we receive the minimum number of applicants required, which varies from course to course. In the event that the minimum number of students required is not achieved by one week before the course begins we will unfortunately need to cancel the course. You are advised not to incur any additional costs related to the course (e.g. flight and/or accommodation costs, technology costs or equipment costs) until after this date. If in doubt, please email the team at short.courses@cssd.ac.uk
