Central offers a unique range of specialist postgraduate programmes (University of London Master's Degrees). All our MA programmes can be completed in one intensive year of study and several have the option of part-time study over two-years.
Each of Central's MA courses provides a carefully designed series of learning opportunities, and will employ a pedagogical style designed to best suit its key aims and learning outcomes. Some MA courses may require you to be in lecture-seminars in the School for one day a week and undertake self-managed learning for the remainder of the week (to include, for example, extensive scholarship and/or placement learning), whereas some training-related courses may require you to attend sessions for four days a week. Others are group-based using prior experience and knowledge to create performances, with few ‘formal’ lectures.
For all courses, you are expected to be independent and autonomous in your learning, self-motivated and open-minded. These are benchmarks of MA level study in Europe and the experience may differ substantially from your undergraduate experience or from other postgraduate courses you may have taken. Please ensure you understand clearly the model of learning and the time commitment involved for the course for which you are applying.
