The Leverhulme Trust fund our Applying Theatre: Training through Outreach Awards, which offer important learning opportunities for students on the BA (Hons) Drama, Applied Theatre and Education and the MA Applied Theatre degrees.
From September 2016, we will have over £60,000 in available funds to support students as they undertake practice-based work outside of Central. Through these projects, students are able to implement their learning in a variety of different social and community contexts. In doing so, they gain the necessary experience and skills to secure professional work upon graduation. With awards between £300 and £1,800, students are able to practice their drama facilitation skills in the UK and internationally.
Instructions on how to receive this funding are provided during the course.
Central’s Applied Theatre courses are some of our most prized and attract large numbers of students. Through this work, we have been able to develop our regional and international partnerships so that our students receive the benefit of practice-based training. These training placements enable unchartered education beyond the confines of the lecture theatre or studio and give our students the very best possibility for employment. In funding excellent and innovative projects, the Leverhulme Arts Scholarships enable Central graduates to stand out.
